Nonwoven Padding for Compression Management
نویسنده
چکیده
Nonwovens play an important and crucial role in the designing of appropriate struc‐ tures for healthcare and hygiene products. One such application is the use of nonwo‐ ven padding in a multi-layer compression system recommended for the treatment of chronic venous disorders. Padding helps in ensuring uniform pressure distribution underneath the bandaging layer wrapped around the circumference of the limb. Apart from the pressure management, padding also facilitates body fluids’ absorption and removal, and provides thermal and tactile comfort to ensure better compliance of the multi-layer compression system. This chapter analyses the different roles of pad‐ ding in compression management. The importance of different nonwovens and their structure on the padding performance are also reviewed, using both experimental and theoretical analyses. Finally, some useful recommendations are provided for design considerations to develop optimized products.

From Fixed-Length Messages to Arbitrary-Length Messages Practical RSA Signature Padding Schemes
We show how to construct a practical secure signature padding scheme for arbitrarily long messages from a secure signature padding scheme for fixed-length messages. This new construction is based on a one-way compression function respecting the division intractability assumption. By practical, we mean that our scheme can be instantiated using dedicated compression functions and without chaining...

Reinforcement of flexible fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) composites with standard textile fibres is a potential low cost solution to less critical loading applications. The mechanical behaviour of FRPs based on mechanically bonded nonwoven preforms composed of either low or high modulus fibres in a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix were compared following compression moulding. Nonwoven pr...
متن کاملCharacterizing Padding Rules of MD Hash Functions Preserving Collision Security
This paper characterizes collision preserving padding rules and provides variants of Merkle-Damg̊ard (MD) which are having less or no overhead costs due to length. We first show that suffix-free property of padding rule is necessary as well as sufficient to preserve the collision security of MD hash function for an arbitrary domain {0, 1}∗. Knowing this, we propose a simple suffix-free padding r...

The application of medical textiles used in woundcare nursing, implants, and healthcare and hygiene products has been discussed. The production and properties of biodegradable polysaccharide fibres obtained from natural sources, such as alginate, chit in/chitosan, collagen, catgut and branan ferulate, have been highl ighted. Speciality medical polymeric fibres used for produci ng wound dressing...
